The guys in the orange are..dalai lama? Or buddhist? I saw men dressed similarly in the Mpls airport a few months back with winter jackets over their orange. When I tried smiling at them, they looked at me blankly. Needless to say, I was a bit surprised. Don't know why, but I thought I'd be greeted back with huge smiles.
Thanks for joining the blog. These guys were buddhist monks I met at the grand palace in bangkok. Some of them have made silent vows, or purity vows and things of that nature so that might be the reason why they might have looked at you funny. I can say I met my share during my visit to southeast asia and they were sometimes very friendly, sometimes more reserve and quiet. I didn't get a chance to but Luang Prabang in Laos is a great place to interact and meet buddhist monks…
It makes total sense. After smiling at them and being surprised, I reminded myself that a smile isn't always the only kindness you can send out into the world.
Beautiful pics!
